1) Make up class policy:
If you miss a class you will be entitled to have a make up class for free (1 free class every two months upon 2 weeks notice ):
* As long as you don’t miss the first 7 classes.
* Teacher will advise you (date and time) when the class you missed will be taught to one of our ongoing classes.
2)
How big are the groups?
Ten people maximum. Spacious classroom, comfortable seats, free
water and friendly people to deal with.
3)
In the group classes will we study the grammar, learn vocabulary
or learn to talk?
We teach enough grammar and vocabulary to begin speaking quickly.
The classes are designed to develop your ability to “play
the game” of Portuguese as soon as possible. Refinements are
made by your coach on the “playing field”.
4)
Do I have to pay and commit to a certain number of group classes
up front?
Yes you do. You must commit yourself to a minimum of 4 classes (1
½ hours each class). The total fee is $90.00, which is paid
to our school administration at the first day of class at the Front
Desk. We accept cash or checks. Please arrive 5 minutes before
the class starts.
5)
Is the Portuguese Survival for Travelers accelerated tutorial program
the same as the group classes?
No.
With the Portuguese Survival for Travelers program you will receive
one-on-one tutoring geared specifically for those with immediate
plans to visit Brazil. Emphasis is placed on language skills needed
to function independently in the country. You will learn to identify
locations, times and directions as they are commonly communicated
in Brazil. You will also learn to express your needs and understand
solutions in common travel situations. The short time that you invest
in these skills will greatly enhance your appreciation of this non-English
speaking country.
6)
How do I register or can I just drop in on the first group class?
Drop ins won't be accepted. The
Portuguese Survival for Travelers sessions must be arranged with
Mr. Vasconcelos in advance via telephone or email.
To
register for group classes, send an email to portugueseclass@hotmail.com
regarding your interest for the classes and your availability during
the week (please include days and times).
Our group classes fill-up quickly (especially prior to Carnival),
so it is best to ensure a seat by enrolling over email or telephone.
Your phone number is required. The $90.00 fee must be paid by the
first class session. No deferred payment programs are available.
